Her pieces incorporate recycled components, using parts from televisions and other rubbish to weave into be-jewelled brocade structures. Her pieces are in museum collections and private collections around the world. This year, she will be showing her sculpture “Electra” that was featured in one of the Secret Gardens of Oxton in May, as well as her jewellery, bags and hats.

Janine Suggett BA Hons Graphic Design & Illustration
"Originally from Paris, I moved to Oxton 25 years ago, and to mark this silver anniversary, I decided to join the Oxton artists. I studied design and print making in London in the bustling 70's, and since then I have brought up my three daughters with my wonderful late husband Martin. As a print maker, I enjoy the qualities of drawing, and use this as a basis for all of my work, which at the moment is a series playful illustrations, and monotype. I enjoy 'accidents', never afraid of experimenting with new and old techniques. I love black and white, but all other colours are welcome. "

Patsy Taylor - MEd UKCP registered psychotherapist
Sewing and knitting have been a significant part of Patsy’s life for as long as she can remember. She has made things since she could hold a needle, loving beautiful fabrics for their own sake - and for the fascinating process of constructing and shaping something from a flat piece of material.

Oxton Art Fair
Williamson Art Gallery and Museum on Slatey Rd
Birkenhead/Oxton
22nd of November Saturday from 10am until 5pm and 23rd of November Sunday from 10am until 4.30m
It is that time again when the Oxton Artists show their work direct from their studios to the Williamson Art Gallery in the fifth Annual Oxton Art Fair, offering a rare opportunity to talk directly to the artists and even buy their work. There are many of the original exhibitors and in addition we have several new members. The main organiser and exhibitor, Alison Bailey Smith said “Yet again, despite our very local remit, we have a very international group with newcomers, Janine Suggett originally from Paris and Theresia Cadwallader who was born in Java. We also have our first ever “Mother and daughter” exhibitors as Janine will also be joined by her daughter Eleanor, who graduated last year with a first class Honours from Central Saint Martins in London “
The fair started in 2004 by a group of friends who were aware that there was a core of artists residing in the area and an influx of artists formerly of the area returning from overseas and newcomers attracted to the community atmosphere and picturesque village. All of the artists and craftspeople live in Oxton (apart from three who joined the group then moved out of the boundaries of Oxton).
